My name is Robin Haney and most likely you landed on this page because you are interested in learning a little bit more about me and my story. For starters I am the owner and main author of Green Smoothie Kitchen, a recipe and healthy eating blog designed to help people lose weight, have more energy, and increase their quality of life like I have.

How Healthy Eating Has Changed My Life
I’ve learned a heck of a lot these past years not only about health and nutrition but also about myself and how my body works. I’ve gained this knowledge from trial and error experiments on myself and have used it to help others achieve what I have which is a better quality of life.
Today my life is completely different than it was just a few years ago, especially when I compare who I am today and who I was just a few years ago. If you were to ask the Robin of 3 years ago to describe himself to you he would tell you that he was lazy, unproductive, inactive, tired all the time and did only what I needed to get by in life. Talk to the Robin of today and he will tell you that he is now the complete opposite!
I’m not perfect and probably never will be, that’s something we all need to understand but just by changing my eating habits and by making a few changes in my life things have changed tremendously.
It didn’t happen overnight though…
It took a lot of hard work, blood sweat and tears. I had a lot of bad habits, I ate whatever I felt like eating, I got around 4-6 hours of sleep at night, I did no exercise and as a result I generally had feelings of anxiousness and laziness. Over the years I’ve slowly worked on all of these things and I have found that in all kinds of ways everything is connected. As one of my main sources of inspiration once said, how you heal anything is how you heal everything.
I created this blog and this page in particular to help you connect with me to tell you that I was once just like you. If you want more energy, lose weight, and just in general feel better then I’m here to tell you that if I can do it so can you!
How I Got Started
At first I didn’t really know who or where to turn to so I went online to try to find an answer to my problem.
I admit I was always a skinny kind of guy, in fact a lot of the time I got teased because I was so skinny. The problem was though that I didn’t feel healthy and I definitely wasn’t. I slept for 12 hours a day and still felt exhausted and tired. I knew that life wasn’t supposed to feel like that. I wanted a solution to my problem.
I did some research and stumbled upon a few websites that suggested that nutrition was the key to all of my problems. I was a little bit skeptical at first of course but it made sense so I gave it a go. When I grew up as a kid we didn’t have fresh fruit and vegetables, it just wasn’t something our family would eat. I didn’t even know what spinach or kale was until I was 19 years old! No wonder I felt terrible all the time.
When I finally decided to give fresh fruit and veggies a go you wouldn’t believe the results I got…
My first green smoothie….wasn’t that great but I FELT BETTER.
As I got better with eating raw fruits and veggies and finding great tasting recipes I found that all of a sudden green smoothies were tasting amazing and the health benefits I was experiencing were tremendous. After only 3-4 days I felt like a brand new person and after only 1 week of having 1 green smoothie a day my skin cleared up and I felt like a whole new person.
Since then I’ve taken nutritional courses and programs online, have read MANY books and have even done tests on myself to further improve my health and well being, but it all started with that first green smoothie.
I’m telling you all this because this is how I want you to get started. Start off with one thing and work from there, in my case I started adding a green smoothie to my daily ritual and because it worked so well I started to incorporate more and more plant based foods into my diet. This is by far the easiest and most practical way to change your diet and get lasting results that are sustainable.
