Today I have for you a great tasting green smoothie that lately I’ve been falling in love with. Here is my Apple and Blueberry Ginger Green Smoothie. Be sure to add this one to your books, its a keeper!
• 2 cups of kale
• 1 apple
• 1 banana
• 1 cup frozen blueberries
• 1 inch ginger roots
• 1/2 teaspoon of cinnamon
• 2 cups of almond milk
• 1 tablespoon chia seeds
For starters you better be hungry or have someone else to help you with this one because this recipe yields quite a bit of smoothie. I had to make a giant container and put some away for the rest of the day in a mason jar. Generally speaking a smoothie will last 12-24 hours in a mason jar container.
The texture and taste of this smoothie is quite wonderful. First of all we have the kale and in my case I used a baby kale mix which worked just as good. If the kale is too much then try 1 cup of baby kale instead.
The apple is what really adds that crunchiness to this smoothie. I used a knife to chop up the apple to make it a little bit easier for my blender to do its job. This can also help make your smoothie a little bit more consistent. I also went ahead and added a banana for extra sweetness and the extra creamy texture that it provides.
Next up we got our frozen blueberries, you can also use fresh if desired. That’s all for the fruit, now what makes this smoothie really unique is the ginger and the cinnamon. These two spices work really well together and help bring out the flavors. Mince the ginger really well and blend it really good or else you might get a ginger bomb in your smoothie.
Lastly I added some almond milk and chia seeds for extra fats and protein. Now that’s what I call a great tasting and delicious green smoothie. Give this recipe a try and let me know what you think in the comments below. If you enjoyed please give it a share!
